The Walk For Work has been a historic day for Battlefront!
Ms Dynamite joined Joseph, Hasfah and a group of young people actively seeking work embarked on a trek from a Jobcentre in Central London to the Houses of Parliament. They wanted to show that a lot of young people are doing everything they can to get work.
It was amazing to see bosses come out onto the street to talk with us and collect CV's from the young people on the march.
Our Walk For Work came to an end at Old Palace Yard where Joseph and Hafsah were invited to meet Employment Minister, Chris Grayling. What happened next was HUGE.
As you know, part of the Ready for Work campaign is about breaking the cycle of youth unemployment by giving young people more chances to get a positive experience of work. Chris Grayling not only backs their campaign, but is going to get the Job Centre working WITH Battlefront to provide 1000 new work experience placements across the country.
Though the youth unemployment crisis is continuing, with new figures expected out tomorrow that may pass the million mark, Joseph and Hafsah felt that meeting with the Employment Minister was a step in the right direction.
Relive their historic day on Facebook and Twitter. We still need to get as much support as possible for the campaign so we can continue to make a difference.
The campaign continues...
