In for a Penny...
It’s Ramadan at the moment, so Zainab’s dropping in on some of the many festivals to interview people for her campaign, which is called Muslims – Normal Too. During Ramadan Muslims fast between sunrise and sunset, and then make up for it with meals, markets, festivals and all sorts of jollity in the evenings. Which is the bit Zainab’s really interested in.
And Zander Percival gently stormed the Houses of Parliament last week. He met with his MP, Michael Penny, to talk about doing away with all that mucky smoking in cars. Michael was definitely up for it.
You’ve all been very busy feeding lots of lovely ‘wants’ into our Wordle. Wants like ‘people to be polite’, ‘greener packaging’, and ‘lunch – I’m hungry’ are proving popular, but one of the most popular ‘wants’ is ‘to end homophobia’, so I thought I’d chew the fat with some people who want to do just that.
I interviewed Rachael and David up in Scotland about their campaign to give homophobia the heave-ho. I wanted to find out what it’s like to be Battlefront’s only couple and campaigning double-act, and what really got their goat(s) about homophobia in the first place.
You can read their interview here, visit their campaign page here, and have a snoop at their website here.
And don’t forget to keep voting on the competition entries. You’ve only got a few more weeks before the competition closes and the 20th campaigner is decided.
As always I’d love to hear what you think about the site and about Battlefront. Do tell all by leaving a comment.
Please have the most splendid of weeks,
Big love,
Amber x
