Popularity: this is the 13th most popular campaignI would campaign to remove the "child" title from transport costs and replace it with an "Under 18's" option.
At 16, you can't drive, are encouraged to be self-reliant and told to remember the importance of the environment. Living in a rural area, as I do, it is virtually impossible to go out independently without the use of public transport. So why, if we have no other option, are we charged the same as those who do?
As our environment continues to decline, it is small things like taking the bus that will make the final difference. I believe that there is much potential for the public transport system to become a more environmentally friendly, less expensive alternative to driving; that the use of it by young people should be encouraged by implementing more realistic fares.
