The True Cost Of Fashion
Isabelle Tickel
Popularity: this is the 27th most popular campaignEvery year in the UK we spend millions of pounds on clothing. We want the latest items and trends and we want them as cheap as possible. But do we ever consider the consequences of our purchases? Every single day men, women and children are being exploited due to our selfishness and greed. I would like my campaign to highlight the conditions in which people are forced to work in whilst making our clothing, as well as the minimal wage they are being paid. I hope the "true cost of fashion" will lead to shops re-considering where they source their clothing from and encourage them to give consumers a wider choice of ethical products. I am very concerned about the lack of information customers are given regarding the making of the items they purchase and would also like to help resolve this problem. Together we can clean up fashion and improve the lives of thousands.
