The Great Education Swindle
Kieran Morris
I am 14, and very soon, I'll be starting my GCSE's. What grades I recieve will decide where I go for my A-Levels, and I once thought that my A-Levels would decide my university. But, turns out, it's the legacy you have, the money in your back-pocket, the influence you have. I am not rich, nor am I poor, and I am not scholarship material, but I had dreamed of going to Cambridge, or Oxford, in the same way that my cousin, from pretty much the same background, did. But with the Conservative cuts on University places and the rise of tuition costs, even if I get one of these rare places, the cost would ruin my family, and this is the case with thousands of children out there, they have the brains, but not the money...
The right for Higher Education for everyone, rich or poor, that is all I ask...
