My campaign is trying to confront the views people have on disfigured people. I plan to raise more awareness on disfigurement and have many ideas for this. I believe if you understand why people react the way they do to you it can be avoided or dealt with better. This is a subject very close to me because I was born with a rare genetic bone disorder which has seen me go through extensive reconstructive surgery to my face. I have faced many problems throughout the years which make me very passionate about the cause. Some of my ideas are: fundraising events, short program possibly a series showing a day in the life of the disfigured (this would give society a proper view on what its like living with disfigurement), flyers, t.-shirts with catchy slogans supporting the cause, more help and support for people living with a disfigurement and confidence building resources. I am applying for a few different programs tackling disfigurement which could be another way to raise awareness. I've got lots more ideas too!
