Hey everyone!
We hope you’re all enjoying these last few weeks of the summer break, it seems to be flying past and what an eventful summer it’s been so far!
After last week’s mass rioting across England, we were given the opportunity to attend the BBC’s Young Voters Question Time special episode on the riots aired live last Friday.
It was fantastic to be a part of such a special episode and one so relevant to our campaign as surely the fact there’s nearly 1,000,000 young people unemployed in Britain isn’t a tiny coincidence for the rioting?
The whole episode was intense and heated from start to finish as everyone felt so frustrated that society simply isn’t listening to them.
Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to raise the point of youth unemployment and how we can make a difference through excellent projects like Battlefront, but nonetheless it was great to hear people’s views and although youth unemployment wasn’t the focus it was clear a lack of aspirations and opportunity is what has enraged so many young people.
Battlefront was however represented well as Shereece from Let’s Talk About Sex got her point in, which was brilliant, and Anastasia from Battlefront II was there!
As well as YVQT we’ve been busy having loads of meetings recently that have helped us on our way to really getting the campaign on its feet and ready to get us all into work, so stay tuned as we cannot wait to reveal our sneaky beaky plans in the coming weeks. And obviously, if you'd like to show your support for us, please do sign up to our campaign.
Take care!
