I’m campaigning to set up the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq. I have found lots of young people who want to get involved, but I need help finding web-tutors for each of my orchestra members, as we don’t have enough music teachers in Iraq. I want to put on annual summer schools where the orchestra gets to rehearse and then we hope to tour around our country and abroad.
- Putting on my recital at the Wigmore Hall
- Being interviewed on Front Row and for the World Service
- Being interviewed by The Times
- Getting so much positive feedback from YOU
- Contact me if you’d like to web-tutor any of the orchestra members
- Contact me if you think you can help me set up a charity
- Send me your comments and words of support

I am a Japanese journalist based in London and have a great interest in the role of arts in society. I am very much inspired and elated by Zuhal's efforts not only as a journalist but as a human being. I have written articles on Daniel Barenboim's West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, and Zuhal told me she was inspired by this. If Divan inspires other young people to have their own projects like that, there is every reason for Divan's existence and those who want to follow it should get as much help and support as possible.
