Zuhal Sultan
I've heard so much positive feedback from lots of people explaining how listening to live music have given them big hopes for a better future, therefore their mindset started changing and that's exactly what we really need; bad news, explosions, dead people, etc. is all that we hear and see in the media here in Iraq.
I’m campaigning to set up the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq. I have found lots of young people who want to get involved, but I need help finding web-tutors for each of my orchestra members, as we don’t have enough music teachers in Iraq. I want to put on annual summer schools where the orchestra gets to rehearse and then we hope to tour around our country and abroad.
- Putting on my recital at the Wigmore Hall
- Being interviewed on Front Row and for the World Service
- Being interviewed by The Times
- Getting so much positive feedback from YOU
- Contact me if you’d like to web-tutor any of the orchestra members
- Contact me if you think you can help me set up a charity
- Send me your comments and words of support

hello Susan, Zuhal has very sporadic internet connection at the moment. Why don't you send the attachment to me at joanna.woolf@rawtelevision.co.uk and i will try to forward it to Zuhal or will call her about it. It's quite unlikely she'll be in the UK in May unless you have funding to get her over here! She lives in Baghdad and it was a big deal getting her over here in March. But send me the info and we will see, all the best, Jo (producer on the project)

Dear Zuhal, I am trying to email you directly to send you an invitation you to take part in an artist's 'Lab' at the end of May in England which might interest you a musician as well as to help you promote your work for the orchestra. I can explain it all to you if there is some way for me to send you the information as an attachment directly to your email address. Look forward to hearing from you and many congratulations for all that you are doing!!! Susan Benn Founder Artistic Director PAL www.pallabs.org

Zuhal - I went to see the Venezuelan Youth Orchestra last night and they were simply amazing! There was so much sparkle and passion in so many young people. The fact that they have all come together in a country that is struggling economically for years, they have proved that it absolutely can be done. I am very much looking forward to seeing how your orchestra progresses and if there is anything I can do please let me know

Dear Zuhal I am a freind and colleague of Sarah Rogers, and was at your performance and presentation at the Wigmore Hall. I hope that you've had huge interest and have now found all your instrumental tutors. If not, please let me know as I have contacts within the professional music scene here in London. Best wishes and lots of luck Tom Hammond

Just back from your Wigmore Hall performance. I feel elated and full of hope to see that destruction and war did not manage to destroy everything after all as long as Art continues and thrives. Keep me on your mailing list for any future performances. Thank you for bringing joy and hope. Lily Al-Tai
