'Road traffic accidents are the biggest cause of death amongst 15-19 year olds, globally'
Road traffic accidents are a major killer of young people, and unless we do something about it the statistics are only going to get worse. I personally know people who’ve been killed in road traffic accidents. The worst thing is that there are easy steps that can be taken to save lives – like not listening to MP3 players when you are crossing the road.
- Meeting Asian ragga star, Apache Indian
- Meeting mentor, David Bowles
- Working with the advertising agency, VCCP, on my campaign logo
- Appearing in a live debate for BBC1’s The Politics Show
- Giving a talk at Gordon Brown’s Chain Reaction event in London
- Getting top photographer, Andy Barter, to support my campaign
- Put my posters and stickers in your local record shops, schools and youth clubs
- Stop listening to MP3 players while you’re crossing the road!
- Find me an unsigned band to make a pop video/ campaign viral with
- Join me in my big stunt coming up next year...

Hi there, I am sat watching and recording your docu at the moment. I am currently on an Access to Health professions course, hopefully in 4 years I will have qualified as a nurse so am hugely interested in your work. In fact I wish to show case it in an essay I have to produce about an effective and current health campaign and think it would be a good way to pass your campaign on to others. Please could I have some campaign materials to put up in the college and use in my essay. Also I can't find the mortality and morbidity rates you talked about quoting from WHO? You are doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work ;0)

Hiya..i think your campaign is a good idea...we live near to a university and every single day students step out into the road in front of us without looking either way before they do! the majority of them are listening to music and have ear phones in ! i think the basic rules of road safety also need to be reiterated because i was taught to look both ways before i crossed the road....i guess your right though...they arn't looking because they are distracted by the music...as a driver it makes driving round where i live very nerve wracking! uni students should definately be targeted...GOOD LUCK

I'm 65 and admire your campaign. It isn't the young who cause their own accidents! I used to have to cross a very busy junction in London on a pedestrian crossing and cars would often drive straight through while I was on the crossing. I started to throw my briefcase at their windscreen and take out my black chequebook with the silver badge and apparently make notes! The junction was near a major Police station! Agro like that shouldn't be needed but they asked for it and they got it!

Hi Manpreet, i have seen the show a few times and your campaign in particular really stood out for me. I'm a student in my final year on an animation course. I would like to create an animation based on your campaign for my final year production. I would very much like to hear your ideas on the content that could be included within an animated advert.

Hi Manpreet, great campaign! I thought about doing something like this when I was almost hit by a bus whilst listening to my ipod. It is real life situations and it catches you out when you think it wont actually happen. I started a campaign not long ago to make cyclists more aware of traffic around them, we notice quite alot of accidents with bicycles these days and partly it's because they dont understand bicycle traffic safety. In some occasions you often see cyclists listening to their ipods! So I think this is a well thought out brilliant campaign, it's made me more aware. One other thing I'd like to point out is when your standing on a train platform and listening to music, you wouldn't have enough time to react if you were pushed into the tracks or even if a train arrives! You should include that in your campaign because its more vital in terms of types of transport and the result of accidents. Good luck! Definitely get in touch with me on twitter: nwd_sha.

Hey I saw your programme on Channel 4 this morning and think you are doing a really good job in raising awareness to the general public especially youngsters. I think the posters and design is amazing and I wish you the best of luck in your campaign. Raising awareness is the key and you have definitely succeeded in making people stand up and think.
