'Teenage suicide is a taboo subject. We need to change that.'
I'm running an anti-suicide campaign to create and promote support services for teenagers. I want to promote awareness of the issues surrounding suicide and create a better support system within schools. I feel that the media coverage surrounding teen suicides is often shameful, and from experience I know that the support system in place is inadequate. When someone at my school committed suicide no-one knew how to deal with it.

I'm really glad someone actually gave this a go! As you said it's a taboo subject but one that definately needs attention. You're a really nice guy (from what little I got to say to you (I was soooo tired!)) and you've got full support from me & David!

This is such a huge and seemingly growing problem which none of the pertinent authorities seem to take seriously. Anything which highlights rather than sensationalizes this subject deserves widespread coverage. Good luck with this Josh, Samantha

Thank you Manpreet. I agree, a huge part of the problem is people refusing to acknowledge that the issue exists in the first place, how can we come close to solving a problem when we do not even accept that it exists. Hopefully in the upcoming months we can work to change this.

A much needed topic. Coming from a minority ethnic background, there are some examples of young males who have committed suicide because of racial bullying. This is something schools and the government are negligent in acknowledging. I hope this goes far!
