'Cyber-bullying: You Are Not Alone'

My campaign

My campaign is committed to raising awareness of cyber-bullying. The key to beating the cyber-bully is to provide the support and resources to enable victims not to feel trapped, alone and completely helpless. Too many people are the victims of cyber-bullying. The message I want to send to the victims is simply this - You Are Not Alone.

My Campaign highlights

- Meeting Cabinet Minister, Tom Watson

- Meeting mentor, Michelle Acton Bond

- Meeting Holly and Max from Skins -  who want to help make a viral about cyber-bullying

- Being interviewed by the Tyne Tees Gazette

How can you help?

- Let me know if cyber-bullying is an issue you have come across

- Send me your stories of how you or someone you knew was cyber-bullied – here or on my Bebo page

- Support my campaign by adding a comment or joining my Facebook group

- Let me know if you know a school that would like to do a workshop on cyber-bullying

@Anonymous; Hi again Anonymous, your opinions only represent a small aspect of what Cyberbullying is and how it affects people. As i've explained throughout a lot of my video blogs, if you've watched them, and written blogs; Cyberbullying extends beyond the typical image that is applied to it, the effects can be psychologically traumatising. It never is just as simple as someone getting abuse from a complete stranger; the situation often extends beyond this. I think you should have a look at my Interview with Prof. Joe Elliott. Kindest Regards, Al Henderson.

Cyber bullying? hell, have these people never heard of "BLOCK/DELETE"? it's all it takes, you know. hm, someone's calling me names over the internet... i know, i'm going to fight back and not ignore them like a clever normal person would. if they had any form of brain cellular matter, they'd block them, and then delete all their comments. it's not hard.

@Anonymous; Thanks for the advice you've given to people who may have an issue with abuse on the Internet. As for me being a 'crusader' to have his 15 minutes of fame, is completely inacurate. I'm an activist seeking to resolve a problem, as for your reference to 'fame' I do find that a petty insult, the spotlight my campaign is getting, it is in the areas that my campaign will benefit others. I am certainly unhappy to hear your not coming back to the site, although you may disagree with what I'm doing; I cant imagine why you'd disagree with all campaigns that are present here. I'm sorry you feel this way. Kindest regards, Al Henderson.

The worst thing about cyber bullying is that people actually think it's srs-bsns. Protip; someone says something mean to you on the internet, don't go on that part of the internet. For example, I don't like this particular section of the internet. I think it's a pathetic attempt for the 'crusader' to have his 15 minutes of fame by talking about an issue which he himself knows is irrelevant. I don't like it, therefore I won't be coming back. Problem solved. Gee, that was hard. Enjoy your fail.

I think this is a really good thing you are doing! I also think that websites like Bebo + Myspace should fix up on their cyber-bullying! When I was getting cyber bullied Bebo did nothing even though i reported the person doing it. I think people should be more aware about cyber-bullying and how the victims feel! Keep this up x

Leesha, 09 December 2008 22:14

Wow, i think this is an amazing project, esp. as one of my friends has been bullied via internet, i support you all the way! :) Suzie x

Ive just been studying cyberbullying at school. We had assemblies that showed us the effects cyberbullying causes. i havent been a victim myself and cant imagine what it must feel like. But what i do know is that i will be backing you all the way.
