I'm a 16 year old student who has suffered with mild depression for about 2 years. My dad suffers from major depression as well and it has a huge impact on our lives, and probably hasn't helped me with my depression.I believe that if teens had more support and there was more awareness about young people with mental health issues, then many teens would not have to suffer in silence, and could get the support they need. This could decrease the amount of young people suffering and could improve performance in education. I believe that this is an issue that needs the public awareness so more support can be given to these people as mental health problems can be so degrading and can cause serious problems in their education and their future. Stigma kills weather its about self harm, suicide, mental health or towards Lesbians Gays Bisexuals Transexuals/Transgenders (LGBTs) it affects us all the same so help us stop the social stigma surrounding these things and support our campaign to spread the awareness and educate the ignorant. So that we can all be supported by family and friends and even them that don't know you its time to stand up and spread the awareness that we are all equal and deserve to be treated the same no matter what our sexual preference, mental or physical state or our method of coping with the world. Its time to stop social stigmas and be treated equally!
