Jonathan Edwards is a young boy with Autism. He has proved that he is capable of work despite his condition! Have a look at the lovely work he has produced to sell in the Pop-Up Cafe/Shop next Feb & let it inspire you to do the same!
Some of my friends have a friend with Autism. Here they talk about what skills he has and what he could do in the future. However speaking to friends which don't have this connection, made me realise that some people are clueless about Autism! We need to get this message out there, educating them and spreading the word that people with Autism are capable of putting something back into society!
Bella, what is your view on how far people with severe autism are disadvantaged by online technology? From my understanding of autism, the slightest change in routine can be devastating to them, yet if you think about websites and blogs, say, they are (hopefully) being updated (ie changed) all the time.
At the same time, we are being encouraged, almost forced, into doing more and more online. Is that going to cause another digital divide in respect of autistic people?
Maybe there isn't an answer but I'd be interested in your views.
Billy was pretending to be a tomtom, taking myself & mummy to the game shop half an hour away, despite there being one 5 minutes away where we originally set out to go! Was a very funny trip!
LVS Hassocks school put on a fantastic circus showing a range of different skills including juggling, singing and weight lifting! These are some of the highlights, enjoy!
I visited a school for people with ASD, LVS Hassocks which gave me even more inspiration for the campaign! These kids are SO talented! Here is a little clip of a few children selling raffle tickets, lucky dip tickets and homemade cakes at their Summer Sharing.
A few clips before & after my amazing experience at No 10 today! Managed to speak to Cameron & tell him a bit about my campaign, met some brilliant contacts for the campaign & heard some inspirational speeches about The Big Society!
