Wow! It has been such a busy day!
As you will hopefully know, we had our show broadcast on Sunday, so last week was all about trying to get press coverage to let people know about the campaign and make sure they watch the show!
On Friday morning I headed out to BBC Radio Surrey to do an interview about the campaign...
Got there and was just doing some filming before when the PR firm rang to say they had set up an interview with a local paper! Then went in to film, was really nervous as the interview was live with Danny Pike (who was presenting the show from Brighton). Got all set up in the studio complete with headphones and big mic!
The interview went really well. I had to think on my feet a lot and rushed to get in final points at the end but just managed it! Was really relieved it had gone well but the press day didn't end there as I then had a phone interview with my local paper! And although Hope couldn't make the radio interview (as she is doing work experience), she managed to fit in a phone interview with her local paper too!
We also had a great response on Twitter, before I left I asked people to help us spread the word by giving us a ‘Follow Friday’. And by the time my interviews were over we had loads! Thank you so much to everyone who did one, we really appreciate the support!
By the end of the day, we had also had a Follow Friday from Bath MP Don Foster and a tweet asking people to support the campaign from Chippenham MP Duncan Hames! Amazing! So all in all Friday was a crazy, busy day but really productive.
I was so excited about seeing the show on Sunday.
Hope and I thought the episode was awesome, Hope loved the slow mo hug at the end! Remember if you missed it you can watch it on 4OD. Special thanks to Alex Burke for lending her continued support. We loved her performance and it was a real privilege to get a special mention from her in front of thousands of people!
Now to think about our next T4 programme, which we are filming this Sunday!!! Another busy week then… ;-)
