After nine months of tireless campaigning, the time has come for Battlefront series 2 to hang up its battle boots. Battlefront will return with series 3 in July.
Since last summer, our 12 young campaigners have been on a mission to change the world, and each and every one of them has done exactly that.
Between them, this season’s Battlefronters have gone face-to-face with the Prime Minister, set world records with Olly Murs, taken teen-sex issues to Hollyoaks, pulled off flashmobs at Westfield Shopping Centre, sung campaign songs with McFly, set up anti-gang mentoring schemes in primary schools, pioneered Cyber Safety Weeks in Swindon, challenged airbrushing at London Fashion Week, launched rip-roaring Let’s Talk Disability festivals in London and that’s just for starters.
Add to that: four amazing T4 shows, thousands of video diaries, Tweets and Facebook updates, hundreds of YOUR campaigns, dozens of celebrity supporters, a young people’s Question Time at Channel 4 studios, an amazing new Battlefront presenter, a huge Battlefront Anthem and countless highlights and achievements too multitudinous and wondrous to mention here, and you start to get the picture.
To all our Battlefronters: big-up yourselves, you’ve made us very proud.
And to everyone who has supported the Battlefronters, started your own campaigns, entered the competitions or visited battlefront.co.uk in any shape or form over the past nine months: thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Battlefront will return with series 3 in July 2011 and the search has begun for our next set of young campaigners. If you think you’ve got what it takes, apply here now.
