This is the 38th most popular campaign
I find it strange that the one thing that keeps us alive is the main thing which we destroy; The Earth. What I find stranger is that it is so difficult to volunteer to help heal the damage that has been caused, without having to pay thousands of pounds to give up your time to make a difference. What 20 year old has a spare £4000 to spend every time they want to make a change? My campaign would focus upon enabling dedicated individuals to travel to the areas of need to really help make a change for the best. You can give all you like to a campaign, but without the people there to take action, nothing can be done. I truly believe the Government needs to focus on funding voluntary projects all over the World in rainforests, jungles, The artic etc. I am aware that America has the Peace corps, but what does the UK have for environmental issues? There are voluntary sites, agreed. But they don't offer projects in areas which are suffering the most. I myself would love to work my socks off in the rainforests to stop their destruction... but it's just not that easy. Please help me make the Government more aware about our need to be able to volunteer without the costs so we can really start to transform our World back to its original beauty. We owe the Earth that much.
I agree! If we want to help some of the earth's most fragile environments and are willing to do whatever is asked of us by specalists or locals in these areas, why should we have to pay thousands of pounds? The costs of some voluntary projects are extortionate, which shows what they really are - holidays. I agree with you totally.

You're so right! i have been looking for volunteer placements, but its so hard to find ones which aren't looking for a profit and just want to help people and places that are in need. I'm glad someone out there feels the same as me. Keep up the good work and good luck with the campaign!

Float your boat? Do you like the cut of Rowena Diamond's jib? Then do something about it. Voting, preferably, not a small dance. The 10 campaigns with the most votes end up before the wise and bewigged Battlefront judges, who’ll pick the lucky campaign to appear on the next Battlefront TV series.
So get behind the issues that matter most to you. You have until midday 30 March to cast your votes.
Everyone loves a nice badge. Especially badgers, for whom they are the primary source of income. Those furry little craftsmen have knocked up a particularly natty Battlefront one which you can stick on Bebo, MySpace, Facebook or your own website to show your support.
Just copy and paste the code below into your website – just like embedding a YouTube player – and then anyone who clicks it will be sent to the Battlefront site, and your page will look at least ninety times as snazzy.
Hi Rowena, Just thought I'd let you know that we're currently looking for our next lot of Battlefronters. If you are still interested, please get in touch via the link on the front page of the website or e-mail me direct. Cheers, Angie
