I currently volunteer at my local children's hospice, caring for newborn up to the age of 19. After speaking to some of the children's parents,I was shocked to hear how unaccommodating our society is toward these disabled children. Many children and adults in our society suffer from incontinance, which restricts their family from taking them out of the house for longer than an hour, other than to suffer the humiliation of having to lay them on the disabled toilet floor, simply to change them. My campaign is to get even just one changing area in every town centre with proper facilites for them to be given the respect and care we all take for granted. Where they will have a bed structure similar to that of a massage bed,a wash basin and a disposal type bin.Enabling their families to show them the quality of life that we enjoy on a day to day basis.

What a fantastic campaign. I have a child with a disability (who doesnt suffer from this) and i must admit that this is something that i never considered. This is something that will really change people's everyday lives. It will make it easier for parents and carers and give a bit of dignity to anyone who need to use the facility. Good luck with your campaign and be sure to let us know of any online petitions you start. Or how we can get your campaign to the top of the list! X
